Owdo Come and join three acoustic solo artists at The Chemic Tavern in Leeds on Saturday 24th of September. Blurb follows - An evening of acoustic music featuring in no particular order at all - Paul Whitaker, Guerrilla Miner, Ian Bellwood and special compere/host spoken worder Joe Williams aka Haiku Hole. Dale Prudent may also pop up for a rant. Ian Bellwood - Armley based singer/ songwriter Ian Bellwood is one of those local performers you wish you'd discovered ages ago. Catchy tune after catchy tune that you'll be humming for days with more than a nod, both in style and feel, back to a simpler bygone era. Don't let those catchy tunes and Ian's cheeky banter distract you from songs that can cover hard hitting subjects as well as the odd moment of comedy genius. Paul Whitaker - Some people might be surprised to discover Paul Whitaker has never lived in Armley or worked in one of the satanic mills that his songs conjure up. Tunes that tug at the heart strings and see the majestic in the ordinary, they'll leave you in no doubt of his roots and his love of his home city. Guerrilla Miner - songs about coal mining, death from lung disease, the Miners' Strike 1984-85 and the aftermath. FREE entry, donations always welcomely received in the shiny box that'll be passed around. Support your local artists!
