It's been a long time since I did this. Which shops/cafes/bars/whatever let you put up posters advertising your gigs/records?

Any help would be appreciated! Maybe this could be moved to music resources when there's a few answers.

I can ask round Chapel Allerton while I'm at the festival tonight if you want to send a few over with John. I'll stick them up.

Blue Rinse lets you stick them up in their dressing rooms.

Lots of the charity shops will let you put them up too.

    Hyde Park cinema.

Some of these places vary as to whether they'll take / have room for flyers, A4s, A3s or what so it's handy to have a selection.

Headingley - public library (but you have to pay), Cutting Corner hairdressers, most of the sandwich shops on North Lane

Hyde Park - fish and chip shop on the road up from Cardigan Lane to Queens Road, most of the takeaways along Queens Road, Royal Park News, Brudenell Road Post Office (but you have to pay), that offy that's in the Brudenells somewhere (ditto), quite a few of the takeaways and cafes on Hyde Park Corner

Most of the takeaways opposite the Library

Town - Jumbo, Crash, Borders, Route One Clothing, most of the takeaways along the top bit of Briggate, takeaway opposite Spencers, takeaway opposite Scarborough Taps.

Ace thread this, somebody should compile everyone's answers into a definitive list.

Yeah - flyers and sometimes posters. It depends on whether or not the 'display' team thinks your poster design will fit the aesthetic of the rest of the store!

Does Slips still let you? Also, where in headingly can you put them up? I always find myself traipsing around there but can't find many decent places
