I'm putting an all-dayer at Wharf Chambers on Saturday August 20. It's cheap in, all your favourite Leeds DIY bands are playing and the weather will be beautiful throughout, I promise.

Facebook event can be found here, please invite your friends: https://www.facebook.com/events/630863303727793/

SHORT VERSION: In order of appearance: DADROCK, GIRL SWEAT; GUTTERSNIPE; DOG EGGS; LOS PECADORES; IRON PIRATE; COMMISERATIONS; JUPITER LANDER; BILGE PUMP; GALAXIANS (DUO); CHRONONAUTZ. £7 waged/£5 unwaged.

LONG VERSION: In order of appearance:

    DADROCK
Fresh from recording their second EP in Thailand(!) this drums-and-guitar instrumental duo present a heady mixture of influences with the guitar busting some Oxes-meets-'70s-rock shapes while the drums groove with an understated tastiness that brings to mind Euphone and KPM library funk. Worth turning up early for!

    GIRL SWEAT
With a debut LP just out on Box Records, one-man band Russell "Girl Sweat" Gray blends... primitive lo-fi garage pop and hypnotic psych-noise with the help of a drum machine, a keyboard, and some obnoxiously fuzzed-out lap steel.

    GUTTERSNIPE
No two people should be able to create the wall-of-psychedelic-chaos soundscapes that Guttersnipe do. Armed with just guitar and drums, their whirring limbs splatter out swirling sonic shapes which will melt your face and consume your soul. A live set that has to be seen to be believed.

    DOG EGGS
Brutal but fun tykes with chops beyond their years, playing goofy, fast, loud and deceptively catchy thrash-grind that somehow bridges the gap between Infest and Suicidal Tendencies. Clever music playing dumb. Always fun to watch.

    LOS PECADORES
They call it "powersurf". Instrumental thrash that pays homage to the greats like Dick Dale, Man or Astroman?, Slayer and the Dead Kennedys while always keeping one steely eye fixed on the future, when they will be the #1 most popular band amongst space pirates. Dance until your legs break.

    IRON PIRATE
Kvlt chiptunes hero Iron Pirate makes a live return to Leeds for a super-rare appearance, bleeping in your faces with his detailed and breathless metal-meets-Megaman compositions.

    COMMISERATIONS
Trio of experienced noisemakers make noise informed by proto-grungers like Circus Lupus or Pussy Galore and later jerky string manglers like Trumans Water or A Frames. Reliably ferocious.

    JUPITER LANDER
A decade ago, Jupiter Lander were the most Euroskramz kids in Leeds; then they broke up because it got too emotional. They're doing a couple of gigs for old times' sake this summer, and will try their best to remember the songs all the way through.

    BILGE PUMP
Active for more than 20 years now, it's no overstatement to say that Bilge Pump are a Leeds DIY institution and that their wit and musicianship is a clear influence on many of the bands coming out of this city. They specialise in noisy, fun rock music with disorienting time signature shifts and goofy call-and-response vocals. They're still great at it.

    GALAXIANS (DUO)
Kicking off the late night dance party section of the night are Galaxians, who recently added vocalist Emma to their ranks, but she can't make it so Matt and Jed will be performing in their "classic" drums and synth formation. Squiggly synth skills brushing against irresistibly danceable grooves, their live sets are a guaranteed treat.

    CHRONONAUTZ
Quietus favourites will close out the evening with a set of freeform techno madness, expect ominous robotic grooves, bleepy synths and slicing cyber-psych weirdness.
