Sorry doc, didn't know you'd replied...best to contact me on facebook actually...not doing that open mic now, fell out with proprietor.

I'm starting a gig night at The Fenton Leeds called THE REPUBLIC OF FENTONIA. After the new year, it will probably be every Friday, but for now it'll be most Thursdays and a couple of Wednesdays....who wants to play at the inaugural gig? It might be this Thursday (14th), depends how quickly we can get things moving...if not, then the following Thursday (21st). The gigs will be broadcast/recorded via mixlr.com on The GHOST & GUESTS Radio Show. Bands, solo artists, poets, comedians....most genres will be considered (not metal, not my thing, and there'll be other nights for that here)....cheers!

    Hello all!

My name is JJD and I play as SOFT RIOT from London (although soon to be a Sheffield resident). I’m currently booking a few shows for SOFT RIOT as well as the Canadian synth act TERROR BIRD. The third act would be JAN DOYLE BAND from Doncaster. I'm looking to arrange a gig in Leeds in late July (pref. July 25th) and have looked at a lot of the venue and promoter suggestions but I'm a bit at loss at to which venue/promoter would be suitable.

All three bands play a variety of dance-y synthesiser new wave. Here's information on some of the acts,

Let me know if you anyone can help or offer suggestions! Thanks.

Over the past year Soft Riot has toured Europe three times, most recently France, Netherlands and Belgium as well as Moscow this past fall and a number of UK cities including London, Glasgow, Manchester and Birmingham. A number of festivals are in the horizon, including the Gothic Pogo Party in Leipzig DE opening for Robert Görl of DAF, one of the early flagship bands on the legendary Mute Records.

You can find information about the new album Fiction Prediction, and Soft Riot in general in two PDFs attached to this email: 1. Information sheet on the new album Fiction Prediction and 2. Information sheet on SOFT RIOT

Fiction Prediction is released in Europe on Other Voices Records and in the US on Volar Records in Vinyl LP, CD, Cassette and digital format. Another notable release is the And You Will Find Them In The Basement compilation on the LP, featuring a selection of mostly London-based synth acts comprising the somewhat current "wave" scene over the past couple of years. The first pressing is sold out and going into a second pressing…

*TERROR BIRD*///Night School Records File under: Zola Jesus, Austra, Kate Bush, Siouxie & the Banshees, The Smiths, OMD, The Cure

Terror Bird is Canadian self-proclaimed "nu new romantics" artist, re-inventing dark 80s synth pop through Bowie tainted eyes. Nikki Nevver, the resident tortured heart of the project has new releases planned with Svn Sns (France). Terror Bird recently toured the Westcoast of the USA and likes drinking straight whiskey with Night School labelmates Molly Nilsson and Group Rhoda. Nevver has written songs for Berlin band Easter & Carson Cox of Merchandise, and has musically collaborated with members of unhappybirthday, & Sally Dige.

Save my UK Tour!!! Please read! BBC Airplay! Need gig 27th J

So, long story short, here it is. I was booked to support MonMon at Wharf Chambers on Friday the 27th of June this year, unfortunately however, MonMon have pulled out and since they were putting on the gig, the entire show has had to be cancelled. This has left me in a bit of a corner as the date was part of my UK album launch tour. So in short, I have train tickets and accommodation in Leeds, but now, no gig and an empty slot in my, otherwise full, 11 date tour schedule.

Is anyone putting on a show in Leeds on Friday 27th June? I'd be more than happy to settle for 20 minutes at the bottom of the bill at this point, and I wouldn't ask to be paid, I just really need a slot.

Hope someone can help out. There's a free copy of my album in it for you if you can help me out!

    Cheers guys.

    Hi all,

I'm in a Dutch band and we will be on tour in England the last week end of November. Our show that was planned on Saturday Nov 29th has fallen through due to a very tragic accident over at the venue. Is there anyone who might be able to help to get something rolling for Saturday Nov 29th? It does not even have to be in the Leeds area neccessarily, it could be anywhere.
