Did your parents go to really fucking cool gigs?

    I don't, it probably would have been the 60s though; it could be my Mum was mixing up 2 gigs mind you as it was a looong time ago!

    this is a really interesting question. I'll try and remember to ask my parents next time I see them...

    Fantastic post as ever, John. Please write a book about your gigs over the years. It would sell loads.

    Not a parent post (as my parents have never seen anything good....apart from Black Wire) but my great uncle Harry Greatorex got offered The Beatles on 25th March 1963 at the club he owned for a short while in Ripley, Derbyshire called The Regal.
    They were on the Tommy Rowe tour and had a day off between Liverpool and Mansfield and wanted to do their own headline show.

    Long story short, Great Uncle Harry turned them down in favour of putting on Cliff Richard because Richard wanted about 50p less or something.

    The daft ****.

    My dad's cousin was shagging Billy J Kramer for a while, back in the 60s.
