My mum took me to see the film of this last year, so I decided to read the book as well.

This book was written fantastically, through the eyes of 2 daughters, a mother, father, brother and solicitor. At times I found this book hard to follow but seeing the film I think helped me understand a little more about the story.

Full of emotion and heatache Jodi Picoult grabs the reader right from the beginning and does not let go until the end. I read this book in less than a day because quite simply I had to read on.

Thouroughly worth a read but be warned, have tissues.

My wife has just finished this one, she also raved about it. I might give it a go if there is nothing decent on the box this evening!

I'd watch the film first, it makes the book easier to follow, but gives more detail than the film. Make sure you have tissues handy though!

I find most of her books very detailed and long winded but still keep reading them.
Definitely a holiday read for me.

I didn't like Songs of a Humpback Whale very much, very long winded and very hard to get to grips with

I loved both the book and the film (and cried at both lol) but I didn't like the way Hollywood couldn't deal with the sad ending of the book and had to change it. I thought it had a huge impact in the book.

I bet you were shocked when you got to the end of the book with it been so different to the film?? I read the book first.

yay, I've just read the synopsis and you're right I should prepare my tissue paper. Would try to find a copy of the movie this weekend and I will try to share my experience. Thanks for sharing...
