I'm a web developer.
After 15 years of web work I'm trying to strike out on my own rather than working for other people.
I'm qualified through experience including 6 years in an Orange front end web development team and academically (M.Sc. in Computer Science).
Happy to work on: - New websites
- Review/Improve existing sites
- SEO changes (improve your google ranking)
- Web 2.0 style sites
From simple brochure style pages through Content Management Systems (CMS) and online shops.
I can provide site and email hosting for my web customers as well as domain name registration - the full package.
Contact me through the forum or via my website ( www.deditech.co.uk).
My DediTech site is a bit rough at the moment .... time gets spent working on client sites rather than my own!
Mention Leeds Forum when you make contact and I'll knock 10% of your website bill.

I'd just like to say that the existence of help to start up a small business in Leeds is virtually ZERO! It makes me laugh that the DWP will pay these micky mouse training agencies £8,000 to send some workshy fop on a 4 week course that supposedly turns them into a fully qualified painter and decorator, yet there is ZERO financial help to assist real people create real opportunities and careers for themselves, and potentially create job opportunities for others in the process!
For several years I tried to get help from all the agencies that the government sponsor to pretend that they are encouraging enterprise and I've come to the conclusion that its all just cosmetic and actually worth nothing. Business Link - garbage! Princes Trust - A joke! Banks - forget it! Leeds Enterprise Grant Initiative - unless your black / asian and live in Chapeltown no chance!
I discovered that because I live in a certain postcode of Leeds I wasnt eligible for any of the meagre financial assistance that was on offer, and I mean meagre! Even though Leeds was awarded over 20 MILLION POUNDS to encourage small business start-ups, only about 5% of that was made available to people in loans of UP TO £3000 - that had to be paid back! SO WHERE DID ALL THE MONEY GO?!
I tell you where it went, it lined the pockets of the corrupt politicians and councillors who embezzled it yet claimed they used it to set up poxy enterprise charities and events. Then they dished out a few grand to pie-in-the-sky small business fantasies like limosine hire companies and record labels run by clueless individuals in LS8 that were destined to (and have) fail.
SO excuse me if I'm not all happy clapping about my business startup, believe me I had a winning idea, but I couldnt get started with nothing like the governement seem to think people can. So unless you've got rich parents, or you've been made redundant and had some golden handshake, forget about trying to start a business as the assistance that is supposedly out there doesnt exist, I just thought I'd save some people the frustration in trying to find it by letting them know.
regards
Johnny

Hi everyone
Just to introduce my new local business Gopher Deals. I specialise in vouchers and deals in the Yorkshire area, mainly Leeds.
I'd like to provide an alternative to the daily deal sites by working closely with local businesses to gather offers that will benefit the business as much they benefit the consumer. I list local business for free too.
I'd love to hear from anyone who like to get involved.
Thanks

Hello!
A while back on Leeds Forum I shared my interest in opening a cafe/takeaway in Leeds. I am proud to announce that I have! Details:
Name: Fayre by Alley (formerly 'Reds'...and supposedly a garage!)
Address: 137 Kirkstall Lane, Leeds, LS5 3LF (north of Headingley train station, south of Queenswood Road)
Hours: 7:45 - 4 M-F. (Open August 5 & 6 for England vs South Africa cricket match)
It's a wee takeaway featuring hot breakfast sarnies, variety of handmade, deli sarnies/wraps/paninis, desserts (such as my Canadian Nanaimo Bars), hot/cold drinks. I aim to add food items from Yorkshire-based food producers and to create a 'deli' feel. I will also do catering for schools and offices and will be offering cricket lunch packages for upcoming International and YCCC matches.
Please stop by for a coffee, sarnie or just to say 'hello'!
Alley

Hi. I've been running a dog walking service for 12 years in the Headingley and Meanwood area.
To say that it's my life would be an under-statement as i'm a tad passionately bonkers about my work and the pups I walk. Yes!!! Even after 12 years (with 2 weeks off for holidays in that time).
You can always check it out on www.fidostreat.org or just have a gander on Fido's Treat fb page. All new likes welcomed.
